Preparation for My Summer Garden... Growing Bulbs for the Summer...

Hello Readers,

The winters have gone in our place and now its the right time to set the garden for the summer. The journey of my winter garden seems to have reached its end. I have collected a plenty of seeds and have stored them in hope of reviving my winter garden from the dead next season.

This time for the summer i have planted some bulbs. My hunt for the bulbs started somewhere around January. I visited the local gardens in search of the treasures they had in store for me to set up my bulb garden for the summer. I ended up buying the bulbs of varies types of lilies, curcuma, hedychium, eucharis, crinum lily, spider lily, calla lily, amaryllis, gloriosa lily, lycoris lily, kaempferia and nerine lily. I visited some more websites and learnt that gloxinia bulbs can also be planted for the summer, hence i ordered a pair of gloxinia for my garden from an online store. hence i landed up with a wide range of bulbs waiting to be planted in my garden. I prepared my pots and planted the bulbs in the mid of February. I used the same potting mix (equal parts of soil, cow dung manure, vermicompost and compost) which i often use to set up my other plants. Within a couple of weeks the bulbs started to show signs of growth. It is almost one and half months since i had planted them up. Few of the amaryllis bulbs which i had planted last year have already started blooming. Below are some of the snaps from my garden.

Hope you enjoyed the post! Catch you all in my next post till then Happy Gardening!
