Colorful coleus...

Welcome back everyone!
I find the coleus plant very fascinating. The plant comes in a variety of colors and with varied leaf shapes and sizes. These plants add a lot of color in the garden. I also find these plants to be easy growers. They just need a normal potting media, for me it's just soil and cow dung manure mixed in a 2:1 ratio. They love mild sunlight and they do good if kept in partial shade and a lot of water. I hardly find any kind of pest attacks or diseases in these plants. They propagate very easily either by seeds or by steam cuttings.
The plant grows a stalk at the epical bud and the stalk bears tiny flowers, if they are allowed to be left on the plant itself then they bear very tiny seeds. One can easily collect these seeds for further propagation. Sowing the plant from seed is also a very easy task. Most of the time I find these plants self seeding and populating the containers with tiny coleus plantlets.

I have few coleus plants in my roof top container garden and they seem to be taking there own care without bothering me much. I would like to share few of the clicks from my garden.

Hope you enjoyed the post. Catch you again in my next post. Till then happy gardening!
