After being inspired by various other gardening blogs, I decided to have my own gardening blog so as to help the plant lovers with what ever bits n piece of experience I have regarding gardening.

A little introduction about me...
I hail from dhanbad , a city which is situated in jharkhand (India). I have a rooftop garden at my home. And I like to experiment a lot in my garden.

Marigolds...

Hi Everyone, Marigolds are the plants which are very easy growing. A winter garden without them is not just complete for me. I planted the saplings of marigolds a month ago using the same kind of potting mix (Cow dung manure and soil in a ratio of 1:1) used for my other plants.The plant needs very little care and produces a lot flowers. These plants enjoy full sun and watering them once in a day will keep them growing well. I used a commercial foliar spray and a recipe (Which i will be sharing soon in my blog) of my own to boost the plants at 21st day after planting them.  Sharing some of the snaps from my garden... Wonderful Azaleas...

Welcome back readers! In the quest of adding more color to my garden, recently I have acquired two Azalea plants. Azaleas are a bit difficult growers. There are certain things that needs to be taken care of if we add Azaleas to our garden. The first and the foremost requirement of an Azalea plant is the type and quality of potting mix that is being used to grow these plants. I went through a number sites and browsed various pages so as to conclude on the use of the best potting mix required for these plants. Last year I had killed one of my Azalea by choking its root in a poor quality soil. The characteristics that the potting mix should have is it most be porous so as to circulate enough air in between the  roots and provide good drainage to the excessive water, at the same time the soil should be able to store enough moisture. My recipe for a healthy garden...

Hi Everyone, I went through several website to get the recipe for the perfect potting mix. After several researches I came along some ingredients which when mixed in a ratio results in a healthy potting mix. Potting mix is the most important thing for the plants. Some important characteristics that a potting mix should have are listed in the subsequent lines. The potting mix should be able to hold water and at the same time it should drain out excessive water. It should be rich in nutrients and to be specific NPK. Nitrogen , phosphorus and potassium are the basic building blocks for the garden to flourish, but at the same time the soil should contain some micro nutrients like zinc, calcium, boron magnesium and the list goes on. Another characteristic of the potting soil is porosity not only in terms of water but also proper air circulation must be present to help the roots breath.
